Primary Sportshall Fever
Contratulations to Minterne Community Junior School for winning both the Year 3&4 and Yr 5&6 Sportshall Athletics today.
The Year 5&6 event was a Kent School Games Trial, so we are pleased to invite Minterne Community Junior School to represent Team Sheppey & Sittingbourne at the Kent School Games Finals (County Sportshall Finals) on March 9th in Ashford.
Sportshall Associates, Graeme Allen and Adam Burgess brought 6 Competition Lanes to enable all teams to compete at the same time.
Graeme was superb on the microphone, encouraging a fun and exciting environment.
Adam supported the 15 Isle of Sheppey Sports leaders (officials) who were very good at encouraging the athletes to perform to their best. They worked hard all day, at both events.
Full Results are attached. Results are listed for each round, enabling teachers to identify results for individual pupils using your team sheets. Any queries ask Roise!
The Sheppey & Sittingbourne Rooster visited both events..... we hope that schools will enter the "Name the Rooster" Competition (deadline 28th February). Name the Rooster application form attached below. Win a visit to your school and half day coaching!
A big thank you to Sportshall Associates; Swale Borough Council and Serco Leisure Trust for contributing to the cost of the sportshall hire; Isle of Sheppey Academy Sports Leaders; Teachers, Team Managers & school staff who have trained teams; parents and supporters; and of course, the athletes for participating!
We look forwards to seeing you all next year ..... dont forget to ask your school to enter the Intra Inter League - there is a seperate event in Terms 1-5.
